Customs information

International shipments from Nepal must clear customs at both ends. Prepare these details before booking.

Commercial invoice

Every international shipment needs a commercial invoice listing each item, quantity, unit value, currency and total. Taleju generates it automatically from the customs items you enter when creating the shipment.

HS codes

Harmonised System codes classify your goods for customs. Handicrafts, pashmina, tea, coffee and garments each have distinct codes — entering the right one avoids clearance delays and incorrect duty assessment.

Declared value & duties

Declare the true transaction value. Duties and taxes are assessed by the destination country and are normally payable by the receiver (DDU). Taleju can quote delivered-duty-paid handling on request.

Country of origin

State where each item was produced. Goods made in Nepal may qualify for preferential duty rates under trade agreements when supported by a certificate of origin.

Restricted & prohibited items

Antiques over 100 years, protected wildlife products, narcotics, currency, precious stones and hazardous goods cannot be shipped. Batteries, liquids and aerosols require special handling and carrier approval.

Documents to attach

Commercial invoice, packing list, export permit where applicable, certificate of origin, and the receiver's full contact details including a valid phone number and tax ID where required.
